Notes From Chart
1 - SROD stands for "single rail overdrive".
2 - The T-5 transmission debuted mid-year 1983 in V8 Mustangs.
3 - This transmission was also factory-fitted to early 1985 V8 Mustangs.
4 - This was the first "World Class" T-5 used in production. Some early 1985 V8 Mustangs came with the 1984 non-World Class version of the T-5 (mainly due to "build-out").
5 - A neutral position sensor's wiring harness and connector were added to the top cover's left side.
6 - This transmission was also factory-fitted to early-1987 V8 Mustangs.
7 - This transmission was also factory-fitted to late-1986 V8 Mustangs. The output shaft has a 7-tooth speedometer drive gear.
8 - This gearbox was introduced as a running 1989 upgrade. It has an 8-tooth speedo drive gear.
9 - This transmission's output shaft has an 8-tooth speedometer drive gear.
10 - This gearbox contains the standard 5-liter H.O. T-5 ratios. The 1993 SVT Cobra version has a phosphate coated cluster gear and a tapered roller pocket bearing between the input shaft and the output shaft. These Cobra features were phased into 1993 T-5 production for all V8 Mustangs.
11 - AOD stands for "automatic overdrive".
